CAP-IT-OFF is an encapsulation cleaner for use on all types of carpet and washable fabric upholstery. CAP-IT-OFF encapsulates soils so they can be removed by vacuuming when dry.

What is Encapsulation?

Carpet encapsulation is the process where a chemical is worked into the carpet with a mechanical action. The soil is enclosed (encapsulate) in a crystal onto the carpet fibres which is easily removed from the fibres when vacuuming. The science of encapsulation is the crystalline polymers that are added in addition to the detergents.

Key Benefits

  • Cleverly formulated with specially selected ingredients that dry to a brittle, friable residue so vacuuming removes it easily.
  • No rinsing required.
  • Fast drying.
  • Pleasant fragrance.
  • Prevents rapid resoiling.

How Does It Work?

CAP-IT-OFF is a concentrated cleaner that is diluted with water and makes a very high foaming liquid. This liquid is used to scrub the carpet area being treated. The rich foam removes and suspends soilage from the carpet fibres. As the carpet dries, the detergent and soilage dry to a crystalline, brittle residue that is removed easily by dry-vacuuming. It also contains anti-resoiling resins to coat and protect the fibres from soil penetration in the future.

For Use On…

CAP-IT-OFF is safe for use on wool, stain resistant nylons and all washable upholstery fabrics. It is ideal for use on busy commercial carpeted floors where the time available for cleaning it limited, and it is desirable for the carpet to be dry and returned to services as soon as possible.

Application

  1. Vacuum the carpet to remove loose dust and dirt.
  2. Make up a solution of CAP-IT-OFF at 1 in 16. This is 1 cup (250mls) CAP-IT-OFF to 4L of water. Pre-test the solution on an inconspicuous area to ensure that the colours will not run.
  3. Add the solution to a pump-up sprayer bottle or the tank of a shampoo machine.
  4. Apply the solution lightly so that one litre covers 10 to 20 square metres of carpet (use a slow-speed rotary scrubbing machine fitted with a nylon brush, bonnet or whit pad to scrub the solution into the carpet). The scrubbing action will produce a light foam. Do not over-wet the carpet.
  5. Dry vacuum the carpet to removes the encapsulated soils.
  6. Re-open area to traffic.

Note: Do not mix any other chemical, such as deodorisers, with CAP-IT-OFF as these may spoil the process of encapsulation.
